What kind of fruits and how many are recommended daily?

By live healthy · Thursday, January 1st, 2009
These fruits are the kind that can make somebody live a healthy life, and probaly add to longevity, prevent diseases and push the energy level through the roof. We´re talking about the obvious like orange, mandarine, grapefruit, banana, apple, kiwi, strawberry, the rather unpopular fruits like guarana, papaya, pummelo, lychee and the really advanced things like the (in)well-known acai berry, acerola, guanabana and quaribea. (For more info on acai berry, click here)
These fruits offer a large variety of vitamins, fibre, minerals and all the things you need. Recommendations are for 5 to 8 servings of fruit per day. A serving is a half cup cooked fruit or 1 cup raw. (Of course, make sure the fruit you want to cook is really cookable. We know, orange and it´s friends are not ;) By the way, cookable fruits also include things like peppers, tomatoes and capsicum)
Anything left to do for you is: delight in them!
