According to a Time magazine survey, it appeared that most people who are spiritually interested or subscribe to a religion are much more happier and live a healthier lifestyle.
Even the Bible says: ”…to keep abstaining from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication. If you carefully keep yourselves from these things, you will prosper. Good health to you!” Paulus, Acts 15:29.

Now for the demographic examples: Californians are obsessed with living longer, and they’ve done extensive studies on longevity, and one of the groups of people that was found (world-wide study) to live a long and healthy life was SDAs who live in California. They do not drink alcohol or smoke…since it is forbidden in their religion.
Another area of the world is on some island of Italy. Very long-lived people who do drink wine, however this probably is not a religion
In China/Japan, however, a positive happy attitude is the key, combined with meditation. Some even combine it with energy healing techniques like Reiki but I think this is for those who really want to dive into this. However, research shows that the population there is more healthy and is living longer compared to the western civilization. Allthough, this is changing already as more and more people move from the country to the cities and try to adapt the lifestyle of counrties like the U.S.
